I struggled with math in school, but when I was in community college, I had a tutor who gave me the right attitude to overcome my obstacles. I learned that anyone can master a subject with perseverance and believing in the results. I used this approach to help other students and lead study groups. As a result, I am now finishing up my Psychology degree at Grand Canyon University with great success.I have many years of tutoring experience, including working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. With teenagers, I am convinced that the student needs full support from parents and tutors in cooperation in order to be successful. Sometimes the tutor sees ability in the student that the parents don't see.My favorite subjects are English and Math. I am always ready to adapt to the student's level and needs and choose the appropriate teaching method. I also value real-life application of knowledge, so I make an effort to help students see how to use what they are learning, and to make sure their understanding goes deep enough to apply it.In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, cooking, people watching, and socializing with my pets and friends.
